About Vacheron Constantin
Jean-Marc Vacheron opened his workshop in Geneva in 1755, and the company has produced watches without interruption since then; it is generally described as the oldest watch manufacture in continuous operation. François Constantin joined as a partner in 1819 and gave the firm its second name and its motto; the present form, Vacheron Constantin, has been used since 1970. Its watches have carried the Geneva Seal since 1901.
Since 1996 Vacheron Constantin has been part of Richemont. Its main lines are the Patrimony and Traditionnelle dress collections, the Overseas sports watch, descended from the 222 of 1977, and the Historiques series that revisits archive designs. The Reference 57260 of 2015, a pocket watch with 57 complications, was on its release the most complicated mechanical watch ever made. The manufacture has been based in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, since 2004, with movement production in the Vallée de Joux.
