About Sicura

Sicura was a Swiss watch company founded by Johann Gobber in Grenchen in 1939. Under Ernest Frédéric Schneider from the late 1950s/early 1960s it grew into electronic and quartz production. In 1979 Schneider acquired the Breitling and Navitimer names after Willy Breitling’s factory closed, shifting production to Sicura’s facilities.

Montres Sicura was gradually phased out as the business became Breitling SA in the early 1990s. Vintage Sicura watches are therefore historically linked to Breitling’s corporate rescue, but they are not “Breitling Sicura” products in the modern branding sense—collectors treat them as mid-century Swiss tool and fashion pieces in their own right.
