About Roger Dubuis
Roger Dubuis was founded in Geneva in 1995 by the watchmaker Roger Dubuis (1938–2017), who had spent fourteen years in the complications department of Patek Philippe before working independently, and the entrepreneur Carlos Dias. The company was registered as SOGEM SA and renamed Manufacture Roger Dubuis in 1999. From the start it built its own movements and submitted them to the Poinçon de Genève, the Geneva Seal, which attests both the origin of the movement and its finishing; nearly all its watches carry the seal. Early collections such as the Sympathie, with its cushion case and bi-retrograde calendar, and the round Hommage established a taste for retrograde displays and large complications.
The Excalibur, introduced in 2005, is now the principal line, recognisable by its notched bezel, skeletonised movements and watches with more than one flying tourbillon. Richemont took a majority stake in 2008 and full ownership in 2016. The manufacture is in Meyrin, near Geneva, and has partnered with Lamborghini Squadra Corse and Pirelli since 2017.
