About Pequignet
Pequignet is a French watchmaker founded in 1973 in Morteau by self-taught watchmaker Émile Pequignet, in the historic Doubs watchmaking region near the Swiss border. After Didier Leibundgut took over in 2004, the company invested in an in-house manufacture and developed the Calibre Royal, unveiled in 2011 as a French-designed automatic movement with integrated complications and a long indicated power reserve.
Today Pequignet stands out among French maisons for genuine manufacture ambitions—large day/date, GMT and moon-phase variants of Calibre Royal—while remaining rooted in Morteau’s craft tradition.
