Orator

Orator is a historic Swiss watch name linked to Manufacture d’Horlogerie Schild & Co. of La Chaux-de-Fonds. The Orator trademark was registered around 1919–1921 as Schild diversified beyond its famous Hebdomas eight-day watches into simpler wristwatches, calendars and later divers such as the Sportsman.

After disappearing during the quartz crisis, the brand was rediscovered and revived by Christian Schmitt and Hans Meeder (interest from 2012; modern relaunch around 2022). Today’s Orator offers Swiss Made mechanical watches with classic, timeless design aimed at restoring the Schild-era name.
