About Nivrel
Nivrel began in 1936 as a brand of the Swiss manufacturer Marvin and later became a German mechanical-watch house based in Saarbruecken. After the quartz crisis left the name dormant, Gerd and Gitta Hofer of Gerd Hofer GmbH revived Nivrel in 1993, focusing on Made in Germany mechanical timepieces with classic complications and distinctive dial work.
The modern catalogue emphasises hand-finished or carefully regulated ETA-based movements, moon-phase and chronograph models, and a German industrial-region identity rather than Geneva haute horlogerie. Nivrel remains an independent mid-tier mechanical brand for enthusiasts of German watchmaking.
