Nautica is an American lifestyle brand founded in New York in 1983 by designer David Chu, beginning with a small men’s outerwear collection inspired by the water. The house grew into a global sportswear name and was later acquired by VF Corporation; its aesthetic remains crisp, nautical and casually technical.

Nautica watches were introduced in 1994 and have long been produced under license—initially involving Prestige Time and then Timex, which created a dedicated subsidiary for the line. Collections typically blend sailing-inspired design with accessible quartz and sport chronograph styles for everyday wear.
