About Farer
Farer was founded in London in November 2015 by Paul Sweetenham, a former watch buyer for a duty-free retailer, together with Jono Holt, Ben Lewin and Stuart Finlayson, partners in a branding agency. The watches are designed in Britain and assembled in Biel by the Swiss contract manufacturer Roventa-Henex, using automatic and hand-wound calibres from ETA and Sellita. The first release was a set of quartz models; the automatics of September 2016 established the brand's traits: brightly coloured, layered dials, applied indices and a solid bronze crown left to patinate. Models are named after British exploration ships and land-speed-record cars.
The range has since grown to include the Aqua Compressor dive watches with inner rotating bezels and GMT models (2017), 37mm hand-wound cushion cases (2018) and chronographs (2019). Farer sells directly to customers online and remains an independent company.
