About Enicar
Enicar is a Swiss watch brand founded in 1913 in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Ariste Racine and Emma Blatt; because Racine was already trademarked, they reversed the letters to form Enicar (registered 1914). Production later centered in Lengnau. The company became known for robust military and civilian watches and especially the Sherpa line linked to Himalayan expeditions. After the quartz crisis the historic firm faded, and the Enicar name has since reappeared under later ownership with Swiss-oriented collections.
