About Bulgari
Bulgari was founded in Rome in 1884 by Sotirio Bulgari, a Greek silversmith from Epirus, and grew through the twentieth century into one of the major Italian jewellery houses. Watches were part of the offer from early on, notably the Serpenti bracelet watches of the late 1940s, but the brand's modern watchmaking dates from 1977 and the Bulgari Bulgari, a round watch with the name engraved twice on its bezel. Bulgari Time was set up in Switzerland in the early 1980s to oversee watch production, and in 2000 the company acquired the watchmakers Gérald Genta and Daniel Roth, with their movement expertise.
Since 2011 Bulgari has been part of LVMH. Its watch division, headquartered in Neuchâtel with case, dial and movement workshops elsewhere in Switzerland, is known today above all for the Octo collection: the Octo Finissimo series has set a run of records for thinness in automatic, tourbillon, chronograph and minute-repeater watches. Serpenti and Lvcea complete the core line-up.
