Alain Silberstein

Alain Silberstein is a French watch designer who founded his eponymous brand in Besançon in 1987, becoming famous for Bauhaus-influenced dials with bold primary colours, triangular and arrow hands, and playful geometric forms. His Krono Bauhaus and related pieces became cult objects among collectors seeking artistic alternatives to sober Swiss dress watches.

The original company ceased activities around 2012 after financial difficulties, but Silberstein's designs remain highly sought on the secondary market, and he has since signalled returns through collaborations and limited projects. The aesthetic—circles, triangles and primary colours—remains one of the most recognisable signatures in late-20th-century independent watch design.
