Etienne Aigner founded the luxury leather goods house that bears his name in 1965 (with roots in New York fashion leather before the Munich-centred European brand). Aigner became known for refined handbags, accessories and the distinctive horseshoe logo, establishing a German–European luxury lifestyle identity.

Watches under the Aigner name extend that accessory universe with fashion-oriented designs, often Swiss or European quartz and mechanical pieces aimed at the brand's leather and fragrance customers. Ownership has evolved through private investors while the Munich house continues to license and market timepieces alongside core leather goods.
