About Accutron
Accutron was introduced in 1960 by the Bulova Watch Company in the United States as the first commercially successful electronic watch to use a tuning-fork regulating system. Engineer Max Hetzel's design delivered unprecedented accuracy for its era and made the distinctive humming Accutron Spaceview a cultural icon of the Space Race, worn by pilots and collected by enthusiasts worldwide.
After decades under Bulova (later Citizen Watch Co.), the Accutron name was revived as a standalone brand focused on electrostatic and high-tech movements, while honouring the original tuning-fork heritage. Signature lines include Spaceview reissues and contemporary electrostatic models that continue the brand's reputation for innovative timekeeping.
